Esperanza de Vida Mission

Esperanza de Vida Mission provides food, clothes, toys and medicine to the children and families in the Colonia Nueva barrio area. You can take donations to Playa Elegante RV Park, space 7 (Darlene).

Esperanza Children's Home

Esperanza Children's Home is not an orphanage. The children here are not up for adoption.

Esperanza Children's Home is located outside of Puerto Penasco about 15 miles, and houses anywhere from 10 - 40 children at a time. It provides temporary housing for families that cannot afford to take care of their children or are having a hard time.

Casa Hogar

Home for the Elderly. Casa Hogar is supported soley on donations. A benefit breakfast is held the 1st Thursday of every month. Phone Dir. Madre Silvia Gomex 383-2599.

Directions: Take Fremont Blvd. toward Los Conchas, make a left at the Pemex Station, cross over the railroad tracks, Casa Hogar is on the left at Hidalgo Ave. and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez.

Amor Childrens Home

(Albergue Infantil Amor, A.C.)

An orphanage that houses children who have been abandoned by their parents or whose parents cannot care for them or were in abusive homes. Amor Children's Home takes them in, cares for them, teaches them and prepares them for life as they grow up.

Sonoran Desert Charities, Inc. An Arizona not-for-profit organization provides the home and much of the operating funds. The program is operated by Albergue Infantil Amor, A.C. They are a developing charity entering their 2nd summer season. They are not yet self-sustaining and are actively seeking donations. They are seeking committed people to build momentum for the home to continue. They are working on raising money to pay off the mortgage and identify twelve (12) groups or individuals to commit to covering one months operating expenses of $5,000. Churches, civic groups, and concerned individuals are being sought. Smaller, one time donations are always welcome and are used to cover unexpected expenses. C.I.D.A. and I.R.A.D.

C.I.D.A. and I.R.A.D. - CIDA is a shelter that provides food, care and housing for those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. IRAD is an institute that provides food, care and housing for those recovering from drug addiction and alcohol . The shelter’s only source of income is through donations. You will see them outside different businesses or on the streets selling candy and asking for donations. They will carry an identification card from either shelter. 385-2378.

 

Municipal Band

The Rocky Point Municipal Band is comprised of 100 children in need of musical instruments and stands. The American Legion Post MX15 accepts donations. Please contact Acting Commander Dick Tomkins at 383-6325. For more information on monthly meetings, check out the Events Calendar.

 

DIF

DIF - Desarrollo Intefral de la Familia - Is a social service organization that offers medical aid and different services for needy families. They rely solely on donations. Throughout the year they hold many public fundraisers, like the Black and White Ball. For more information, call Magdalena Reyes at 383-6145 in Rocky Point, Mexico.

 

Helping Hands

Helping Hands - Manos de Ayuda, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that provides health education, rehabilitation, medical and therapy equipment and supplies. Projects include construction modifications at a nursing home, a free clinic and day care services. They also assist schools with provisions for children with special needs. CBSC

Cholla Bay Sportsmen's Club (CBSC) is a social club that meets monthly for a dinner/meeting and supports the radio room in Cholla Bay. Contact Harold Runner 382-5078 for more information. Meetings are held at a restaurant in town or at the Clubhouse in Cholla Bay.

 

Amigos de Puerto Penasco

Amigos de Puerto Penasco is a social club that meets monthly for cocktails/dinner and supports various organizations and other needs of the community as brought to the club's attention. In the first six (6) years of existence, they have donated over $33,398 back to the community. Everyone is welcome.
